Yamaha's Z trumpets were designed in collaboration with jazz legend Bobby Shew. Bobby plays a wide variety of musical styles and dreamed of a single trumpet which would be equally suited for screaming lead, mellow jazz, ballads, 'legit' studio gigs, etc.
The Yamaha YTR6310Z Trumpet features corrosion resistant Monel pistons that are an ideal choice as they retain a precise fit and smooth action over many years. A hammered yellow brass bell produces a more intense yet perfectly balanced tone with a fast response and additional presence.
Hand-lapping pistons and slides ensures a perfect fit and seal between the pistons and casing or slide parts. This perfect fit helps to achieve smooth air flow action and comprehensively improve the response and intonation of the instrument. Perfectly rounded tubing results in less turbulence and a smoother air flow, allowing for an excellent scale and reduced resistance, meaning a powerful and vibrant tone.
A high-energy laser fuses the brass together for a virtually seamless bell which allows continuous even vibrations. As with all Yamaha lightweight trumpets, the YTR-6310Z has an unbraced inner outer tuning slide which makes the trumpet comfortably open with less resistance.
